We are urgently looking for Senior Database Engineers with hands on experience with Oracle and SQL databases. This is a permanent opportunity in fast growing multinational software solutions company operating in financial sector.

 Your Tasks & Responsibilities

- Responsible for highly available database infrastructure, mainly Oracle and SQL
- Install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the company database operating environment
- Maintain the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the database infrastructure which includes proactive monitoring, responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth
- Provide database solutions based on business / IT needs and anticipated growth
- Work together with other technical staff and vendors to provide database services to the company and partners

Our requirements

- Experience of working in teams which support and manage Oracle and SQL database Infrastructure
- Operational experience working with Oracle Release 11g and with tools and utilities such as RMAN and Grid Control
- DB Administration – design, engineering and support. Mainly Oracle and SQL
- Good understanding of Unix/Linux
- Positive, proactive work ethic: can do attitude
- Ability to work closely with IT development and Infrastructure teams
- High standard of documentation
- Grid control/DB Monitoring
- RMAN (Restore/Backup)
- DB Tuning/Optimization
- Vendor management: Oracle, Microsoft
- Ability to work with Oracle Grid Infrastructure (ASM/directly attached disk)
- Installation, patching and usage of Grid control 12c/DB monitoring
- professional SQL and Oracle certification
- Good shell scripting knowledge and PowerShell
- Willing to work as part of a team on-call rota and be available in case of out of hours emergency
- Experience of following change management process, JIRA experience being a plus
- Fluent English

Desirable skills

- Experience with Commvault backup system
- Experience with the Trivadis base environment
- Team leadership experience
